Originally from a small dairy farm in the west of Ireland, I graduated as a veterinary surgeon from Edinburgh University in 2014. I then spent five years working in mixed and farm animal practice before joining Promar as a consultant in February 2020, primarily covering north-west England and south-west Scotland.

As a vet, I have worked in New Zealand, Ireland and Cumbria, gaining extensive experience in beef, sheep and dairy medicine. I am currently studying towards a Masters in Ruminant Nutrition which I hope to complete in 2021.

I am predominantly interested in using my skills and knowledge as a vet to improve margins for farmers while safeguarding animal health and welfare. I am also interested in the sustainability of the livestock industry in the UK and aim to promote environmentally-friendly practices where possible.

Outside of work, my interests revolve around ultrarunning, orienteering and rock-climbing.
