I love consulting; working with clients to understand their needs and be more successful. I share experience gained from work with a wide variety of businesses, gained over 18 years.

My approach involves a practical, common-sense way of working gained from having dairy farmed myself. I also use commercial and nutrition skills I picked up working in the feed sector to improve animal performance. These experiences combined with analytical skills I developed working for a leading management software company give me the ability to help clients make better, more informed, decisions.

My work frequently includes a review of accounting records, preparing budgets and cashflows, or is out on the farm “in wellies” giving a hands-on practical view and monitoring feed efficiency. Recently I have also helped with succession, evaluated new enterprises, set up stewardship and contract farming agreements and prepared expert witness reports.

My most rewarding work to date includes helping clients to:

  • make generational investment
  • buy the farm
  • win large grants
  • transform their business performance

I aim to do whatever I can to help my clients achieve their goals; whatever the need I will try and help.

I have always worked in Agriculture, from growing up on the family dairy farm to now working for Promar as a Senior Dairy Consultant. Along the way, I have gained an Honours Degree from Harper Adams, worked for leading feed and Rural software companies, completed the Advanced Business Management Course and gained my BASIS Soil and Water qualification.

On a personal note I used to play a lot of Hockey and am competitive; while I don’t play now I still have the same drive which means in work I like to get the job done.

Instead of running around a pitch now, I enjoy holidays and the occasional skiing holiday with the family, at a more leisurely pace.
