I joined Promar in August 2023 as a Sustainability Consultant. Prior to this, I spent nearly 4 years working with a retailer-aligned dairy farmers group as their Dairy Scheme Coordinator. This included conventional, organic and goat milk. I coordinated numerous projects and workstreams focused on sustainable production and farm standards; from animal health and welfare, to carbon footprinting, anti-microbial stewardship, on farm biodiversity and sustainable feed sourcing. My work involved close liaison with retail customers to deliver their requirements, alongside the milk processors, but most importantly, the farmers.
I love being out on farm, undertaking data collection or work to ensure the agricultural industry has robust data to back up the amazing stories behind the products we produce for the consumer.
Alongside my previous role, I completed a Masters in Sustainable Food and Agricultural Policy with the Royal Agricultural University, which furthered my passion for sustainability. I also hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Agricultural Business Management from the University of Nottingham.
Just before joining Promar, I took a 3 month travelling break in New Zealand, Canada and the UK, where amongst plenty of hiking, swimming, skiing and adventure, I toured a mix of dairy and beef farms, focusing on sustainable or regenerative practices. This was a fantastic experience, and I believe there is huge potential to share and learn from sustainable farming techniques globally, in such a dynamic environment.
