Reflecting on my first few weeks at Promar International

It’s hard to believe it’s already been more than five weeks since I joined Promar International as Managing Director. Time has flown, but not without leaving a strong impression on me – of the people, the purpose, and the potential that this business holds.

From the outset, it’s been clear that Promar is rich with talent and knowledge. The depth of expertise across the team, whether in data, sustainability, food supply chains, or farm consultancy is truly remarkable. Every day I’m learning from passionate individuals who are deeply invested in making a difference.

I’ve also been struck by the energy. This is a business full of motivated and engaged people. Whether it’s consultants out on farms, analysts interpreting complex datasets, or project teams working with international clients, there’s a real sense of purpose. People care about our clients, about agriculture, about food, and about the future of our planet and food production systems. It’s incredibly motivating to be part of a team that genuinely wants to do good and do it well.

Turning insight into impact

One of the most impressive aspects of Promar is undoubtably our ability to take complex data and turn it into practical, decision-ready insights. In a world where information is abundant but clarity is rare, this capability makes a real difference.

We don’t just collect data, we interpret it and use it to unlock value for our clients. Whether it’s helping a business improve productivity, supporting sustainability reporting, or advising a farm on how to expand and grow, we bring a clarity that supports better decision-making.

Promar’s reach also extends beyond the UK, and in my short time here I’ve had the privilege of travelling to Germany meet our wider sustainability team. Our work spans a range of commodities from dairy to beef, horticulture and beyond and each presents unique challenges and opportunities. This international perspective is invaluable, especially as global supply chains become more hyperconnected and more exposed to risk.

Looking ahead at Promar

At the heart of it all is a simple but powerful mission: to become a trusted partner to the agri-food supply chain, both in the UK and internationally. That means offering expert consulting, grounded in real-world farm experience. It means providing data-driven solutions that help businesses grow sustainably. It means building long-term relationships, based on integrity, insight, and impact.

But it also means looking inward by nurturing talent, investing in our people, and ensuring Promar remains a place where careers can flourish. I’ve already seen how much value is placed on learning, collaboration, and development here. It’s something I’m excited to build on.

These first few weeks have only strengthened my belief that Promar has a vital role to play in shaping the future of the agri-food industry. I’m proud to be part of that journey and even more excited about what’s to come.

Here’s to the next chapter.
