Case Study: The Farm Business Survey (FBS)
Promar delivers the historic Farm Business Survey (FBS) project for Defra, collecting business data from 1,500 farmers and growers in England to inform government policy and provide insights to the industry. Participators receive a free software subscription to the bookkeeping platform Xero, plus a detailed management and benchmarking report to help them improve the profitability of their farm. This utilises the strength in depth of Promar’s team of agri-consultants and research officers, many of whom have deep roots within the farming community. The data we gather has been used to inform Defra’s policy during the Brexit transition period, and is now feeding into the government’s Profitability Review.
