  • Professional Summary: Jordana joined Promar in January 2025. She is a grazing livestock systems specialist, with almost two decades of expertise in research to enhance sustainability of production systems. She specialises in designing studies, analysing data and processing information to produce evidence-based recommendations to different actors of the supply chain. She is also experienced in leading multidisciplinary and international groups. 
  • Qualifications: PhD in Agricultural Science (Universidad Austral de Chile), Diploma in Applied Statistics (Universidad Austral de Chile), Agricultural Engineer (Animal Production Systems, Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay), Agile Project Management. 
  • Areas of expertise: Sustainability assessment, pasture management, animal breeding, experimental design, data analysis, international collaboration. 
  • Professional experience: Almost 20 years of experience in research in sustainable livestock production systems, leading projects in the UK and South America, with a strong international leadership profile. 
  • Key projects or achievements: Since joined Promar, Jordana demonstrated the benefit of an environmentally oriented selection index in reducing dairy farms carbon footprint, supported an organic milk production group of farmers to monitor, predict and enhance the soil carbon sequestration, advised farmers on how to improve key performance indicators to improve their farm’s efficiency and reduce their environmental impact. 
  • Professional memberships: active member British and Irish Society of Animal Science, secretary of the European Federation of Animal Science’s Livestock Farming Systems study commission, chair of the Global Farm Platform.
