Luke joined Promar International in 2020, bringing with him several years’ experience in environmental roles across the public and third sectors. Since then, he has played a key role in supporting farm businesses and the wider agricultural industry to embed sustainability into practical, commercially viable strategies.
He holds an MSc in Agroecology from Harper Adams University (2018), where he was supported by the Organic Farmers & Growers Scholarship. His academic work focused on sustainable agriculture and soil health, collaborating with Fera on the Big Soil Community project to develop innovative approaches to assessing soil microbial communities.
At Promar, Luke works across a broad portfolio of projects, including in-depth analysis of the organic farming sector, government advisory work, and the design and delivery of behaviour change programmes. He supports businesses in integrating sustainability into long-term strategy, combining strong technical knowledge with a practical, farmer-focused approach.
More recently, Luke has taken a leading role in advisory delivery in Wales, acting as lead consultant supporting clients through the Farming Connect funding programme. Promar is proud to be recognised as one of the lead advisory consultancies within this initiative, helping Welsh farm businesses access funding and implement meaningful change.
Luke brings a strong research background, clear communication skills, and a pragmatic understanding of the challenges facing modern agriculture.
Outside of work, Luke is a long-time Everton FC supporter, a record collector, and an enthusiastic amateur cyclist, cook, and allotmenteer.
“I am motivated by supporting businesses to capitalise on opportunities to be transformational in addressing global challenges, which ultimately enhance and protect the environment.”
