I grew up on a working dairy and arable farm in Berkshire, riding horses and loving the farming life. One of my earliest memories is of being lifted as a toddler to peek into vats where milk was being churned.
After studying English Literature at Bristol University, I joined the police force, eventually becoming a front-line sergeant. Whilst with the police I competed at international eventing tournaments and set up horse trials and an equestrian centre on the family farm. Eventually, in 2015, I left the police – initially to manage the centre and then to run the entire farm. In this time, turned the farm around from loss making to profitable.
Back at the farm, I studied for an MSc in Rural Land and Business Management at Reading University. I graduated in 2022. Shortly after, I took on the new challenge of joining Promar International. I am responsible for the Farm Business Accounts team and the Farm Business Survey staff.
With my police background, I believe in being highly organised and immediately owning my mistakes. Both my teams at Promar have a high workload with strict deadlines. I hope my approach will help the staff to achieve our aim: to deliver a high standard of service with unimpeachable data quality.
In my spare time I still like nothing more than to go horse riding.
