Having worked in the agri food supply chain since 1975 I have a repertoire of knowledge based on experience in numerous leading agricultural companies. I believe that food and farming is a meaningful and important sector that thrives to achieve change whilst being effective and efficient; delivering results and adding value to our customers businesses.
Previously I worked for Promar between 1992 and 2004 as a farm consultant, regional manager and Director of Farm Consulting. In addition to consulting roles I have a wealth of operational and management experience within the dairy sector, working with numerous agricultural industry leaders.
Currently I am responsible for the delivery of Promar’s services to a large supermarket, including farm business accounts, consultancy support, dairy costings, workshops and cost tracking, whilst offering strategic support, based on analysis and insight of the group’s performance.
I have also been the Chair and Vice-Chair of the RASE Dairy Club (the UK branch of European Dairy Farmers) and Chair of the Milk Issues Group of Dairy UK (the industry’s representative body), giving me a detailed insight into current dairy issues.
Some of my career has also been spent working in Venezuela allowing me to learn Spanish! I regularly participate in a range of sports – particularly fell running, triathlon, cycling and adventure racing.
In my spare time I often go hill walking, ornithology, conservation issues, reading widely and digging the allotment.
