Emily Collins

Following a degree in Animal Science BSc (Hons) at Harper Adams, I joined AHDB in the Dairy Knowledge Exchange team. My time was focused on running knowledge-exchange events for farmers, and grazing-based discussion groups.

In September 2023, I moved from the Midlands to join Promar as part of the South consultancy team and have enjoyed getting to know farmers in the area.

I have been working with farmers advising on farm payments (including the new SFI), choosing together options that work with their farming business and securing the maximum benefit for their farm. Alongside this I have been working on financial account analysis and budgeting to help farmers with their decision making.

I am a trained Mastitis Control Plan deliverer and enjoying working with farms to analyse their data and farming practices to pinpoint how to reduce mastitis incidences.

Carbon footprinting has been a useful tool to dive into the efficiency of a farm and often displays areas to work on where I can help, be that improving grazing management to reduce nitrogen inputs or reducing age at first calving.

I’m dedicated to advancing my clients’ businesses. I understand that each business is unique and requires a tailored approach. Recognising the ultimate goals of all my clients is something I strive for. Together with the farm business, I craft a strategic plan to achieve these objectives.

In my spare time you’ll find me walking with my husband and our spaniels or riding my horse in the countryside.
