Harriet Rankine

After graduating from the University of Reading in 2016 with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science, I spent six years working with horses around the world. This experience took me to Florida, New Zealand, Spain and Argentina – where I learned and then honed my Spanish skills.

My career with Promar began in March 2023, when I spent time with the company as part of the Genus Graduate Scheme. I transitioned into a permanent role in February 2024. For my day to day I am involved in helping improve farm efficiency, grant applications (including the new SFI grants), soil sampling and I am working towards my Feed Adviser Register (FAR) accreditation.

I believe in working closely with clients to understand their needs, discussing all options, and supporting them through their choices. I take pride in being part of their farm and seeing improvements in their operations.

In short, I focus on helping farmers. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive impact of our collective efforts on their farms.

Today, I live in rural Cornwall, where I enjoy activities including riding, gym, CrossFit, cycling, and coastal walks. I love getting involved in on-farm activities, such as lambing. In my spare time, I drive articulated lorries and occasionally transport horses to Spain for their summer season.
