Emily Collins

I first developed an interest in agriculture as a child in rural Sussex, and knew from an early age that this was the sector that I’d live and work in when I grew up.

After completing school, I undertook a degree in Animal Science at Harper Adams, graduating in 2018. Soon after, I joined AHDB and quickly progressed to the position of a Dairy Knowledge Exchange manager for the West Midlands.

At AHDB my time was focused on running knowledge-exchange events for farmers, and grazing-based discussion groups. A particularly rewarding role involved working with numerous dairy industry stakeholders to organise the Entrepreneurs in Dairying course, 2020-23. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the participants develop and grow their businesses through a variety of routes.

In September 2023 I joined Promar as part of its consultancy team for the South of England and am now busy meeting dairy farmers in the area. I have also gained additional accreditations in grassland management and mastitis control, and am enjoying working with farmers on these topics.

I’m dedicated to advancing my clients’ businesses. I understand that each business is unique and requires a tailored approach. Recognizing the ultimate goals of all my clients is something I strive for. Together with the farm business, I craft a strategic plan to achieve these objectives.

In my spare time you’ll find me walking with my husband and our spaniels or riding my horse in the countryside.
