Joanna Brook

I bring over 40 years of hands-on experience within the agricultural sector, despite not coming from a farming background. My career began during my A-levels on a local dairy farm, where I later went on to manage the herd on a contract basis. This opportunity ultimately led to the development of a successful family haulage business, now run by my son. Having been self-employed for most of my life, including 25 years running my own business, I have a deep, practical understanding of the challenges and pressures faced by those working in the industry today.

As a CPC holder, I am responsible for ensuring compliance across vehicle safety, driver management, and international legislation, demonstrating a high level of competence, responsibility, and reliability that is transferable across many areas.

Alongside my professional career, sport has always played a significant role in my life. I have competed in rugby at County and National 1 level, and coached as a Level 1 RFU Rugby Coach, supporting primary school rugby across the East Sussex cluster. I have also completed the Beachy Head Marathon twice.

These days, I enjoy spending my spare time with my grandchildren and spaniels – arguably my toughest job yet!
