Our Specialists

I am old enough and wise enough to remember that businesses, have to make a profit as well as feed people, care for the birds and the bees and ensure the planet will sustain future generations. A tall order but one which is endlessly fascinating and never dull.

Since graduating from Seale Hayne College of Agriculture, I have spent my career working within the agriculture sector. I have worked within Genus/Promar since 1990, initially as a consultant in South Wales then onto business development. During my time as a manager for Genus Milking Systems and overseeing the laboratory analysis service, I developed our […]

I’ve always had a passion for dairy cows, having spent my childhood on my family’s Parmigiano Reggiano dairy farm. It was those early experiences that spurred me to study for a graduate degree in Agricultural Science at Milano University. During my degree, I also had the opportunity to spend some time in Scotland where I […]

I thrive on helping my clients succeed.  I use my varied knowledge to help clients focus and get the job done with a consistent organised approach, and make it an “up-beat” experience.  I have worked as a consultant with Promar since 2007. As well as working directly with clients, I have managed Promar’s in-house training courses.  I keep up to date with […]

My great interest in agriculture began when I was a child. However, my specialisation in animal health and livestock production systems emerged when I studied Agricultural Science at the University of Milan. After my degree, I worked on a farm with a closed herd of Limousin cattle, which produced beef for its two butcher shops. […]

Paul Henman

Principal Farm Business Consultant

I was reared on a dairy farm in south Warwickshire and formally educated in Agriculture at Harper Adams University College. However, my real education for my consultancy role has come from the hundreds (if not now thousands!) of dairy farmers I have had the privilege to meet and work with over the 30 + years of my career. My satisfaction comes from helping to find solutions to the challenges of modern farming systems in sustainable ways for the farming family, the cows and the environment.
